was the first time I tested the new 2009 BEST Nemesis HP 10m PROTOTYPE with the new Twister TECH! My job is to crash it as much as possible to test the TWISTER TECH durability. I must have put in more than 100 hours and this kite is still rock solid.Cabarete, Dominican Republic: July 13 - 19, 2008:
During this week, I had a chance to test all 2009 BEST Kites and boards. For HP Nemesis 2009 kites, I tested 12m, 10m and 8m. Yes, BEST is introducing 6m and 8m for 2009 Nemesis HP and eliminated 7m HP and 9m HP Nemesis. The 2009 BEST 12m Nemesis HP has light bar pressure, very quick pivot Wing tip turning.
For 2008: I did not need to ride any kites bigger than my 2008 10m HP. During the last 10 months, I have been riding on 2008 10m HP about 80% of the time from wind 10mph to 25mph. Once the wind kicked up to more than 18mph, I jumped on the 2008 7m HP. The 2008m 7m HP is so far THE BEST SMALL KITE Ever!!! .
I had about 2 hours last week on the new 2009 Nemesis HP 12m. What a sweet 12m kite: lots of power, fast turning with AA setting. The rest of the week, I was on the 2009 10m HP. At first, I was riding the 2009 10m HP on AA setting because this was the setting that I was using on the 2008 10m HP. Then I rode the 2009 10m HP with AB setting for the rest of the week: It was so much fun. The kite turns super fast and quick on AB setting, Kiteloops with AB setting is very smooth and super fun.
I also tested the 2009 8m HP. I had about 1 hour on this kite: it felt a little bigger and smoother than my favorite 2008 7m HP Nemi.Pismo Beach, California: July 21, 2008:
The 10m HP an 7m HP 2007 kites were my MOST TWO FAVORITES Kites until this afternoon. I went out on the 10m HP Nemesis 2009 and the wind was blowing about 10 to 12 mph. I had the 10m HP set up with AB Rear bridle setting.
I have been using AA setting for my 10m 2008 HP kite. However, since the 2009 10m HP Nemi is very fast turning on the wing tip as well as faster to the edge of window, I found the AA setting is too fast for my unhooked freestyle riding tricks. Last week while I was in Cabarete, I was testing it with AA and AB setting but never tried AC setting. This afternoon, I decided to tried the new 2009 10m HP Nemi on AC setting and I instantly felt in love with this kite. What a HUGE different going from AA to AB and AC setting. The 2009 10m HP Nemi stayed at the same place wherever I left it when I unhooked and threw my tricks. It has the same feeling like I was on a C kite like BEST new Yarga kite with this AC setting. All afternoon long, I was going off doing Unhooked Slimchance Kiteloop, 720 Forward, etc..: the kite just simply stayed wherever I left it. Kite Loop with AC setting on the 2009 10m HP is even crazier: bigger and more powerful. I had so much fun practicing unhooked tricks with the AC setting that I did not get out the water until sunset. I kited 4 hours or more straight. Came home and I could barely lifted up my arms to eat dinner: what a great session...Demo Day: 3rd Avenue - San Mateo, California August 09, 2008:
We had great time demo the new 2009 BEST 13m Waroo, 9m Waroo and 10m HP Nemesis this weekend. Those who tested the kites were super stoked! Here is what Steve Davies wrote:
Kinsley,
Thanks again for letting me test out the new BEST Kites. I tried the 2009 Waroo 13M, Waroo 9M, and the HP Nemesis 10M. All three are fantastic kites. Of the three my eventual favorite was the 10M Nemesis. The Nemesis can be adjusted for speed on the back lines, once I found the setting I enjoyed (AB) riding on the third knot, I really enjoyed the kite. The difference in setting can be huge so many riders with different likes and dislikes can adjust the kite to their individual needs. The kite turns very fast on the tip and also moves through the window smoothly. I loved the power and upwind ability. Great kite, I weigh 180 lbs ride a Underground 128 board. No problems with the Upper Teen wind we were riding. I also enjoyed riding the 9M Waroo. Incredibly smooth kite unfortunately due to my weight I need a little more kite so that is why I liked the 10M better. As for the 13M wow the amount of power that kite has is amazing. Riding in light wind (13-15 Knots) I was fully powered and jumping. Again very fast for a larger kite and incredible upwind. I was making X's crossing with people in the water and we were going the same direction! Anyway thanks again

Here is what Stephan Woehl wrote about his testing:
THANKS Kinsley for coming out and letting me try out those three new awesome kites. I spoke with many other riders that tried them and they were definitely super stoked as well. My personal favorite has to be the 10m Nemesis, mostly because I am a 1-kite quiver kind of guy and this one fits the bill for most of my riding spots. It is just the kite I have been looking for with great low-end, rock-solid, incredibly stable, and ridiculously fast and fast turning. Like the other two kites, it has three settings for turning speed adjustment and every rider should try them all out to see what setting they like best in what conditions. I also really liked the two 09 Waroos, which I would buy for a 2 or 3-kite quiver. With my 180 lb, the 9m Waroo is the perfect high-wind kite but with the wind hardly blowing more than the low 20's yesterday, I was impressed with how quickly it got me going and how much boost it provided for jumps. The 13m Waroo feels as if you are pulled behind a boat. Unbelievable power, great up-wind ability, and still the fastest turning 13m I ever rode. It's a great kite for those low-wind days or a perfect allround kite for many spots in SoCal. The only downside to trying the new kites ... I have to put up with my old gear until they are available :)

Michael tested the 10m HP Nemesis 2009. I had the kite set up for my style: AC setting. Michael came in after his first ride with the 10m HP and he told that the 55cm bar would be better. I sent Michael out again with the AA setting on the 10m HP with 45cm bar and he came back with a huge smile and super stoked. Here is what Michael wrote:

I was one of those lucky ones who had an opportunity last Friday to test 2009 Nemesis HP 10m - thanks a lot to Kinsley from XtremeBigAir.
One word: frustration... Mad That's right - it was pretty dumn frustrating to discover that my current kite (2008 HP 12m) is no longer at the peak of the kite design.
At first it seemed a reguler kite, and I suggested it might be better to change the bars from 45cm to 55cm. After Kinsley pointed out it was on AC, he set it to AA and ... wow! That kite is a beast! 45cm is definitely more than enough.
Very light bar pressure (literally zero), and super fast. The turns are just lightning fast. The ride itself is also faster. I ride 2008 Mako Wide (150cm), and normally bypass others on regular twin-tips, but on that 09' HP I was going even faster. How is it possible?
Boosts are also pretty impressive, and very easy. I had only about 20min on it, so couldn't really test, but I am sure the reviews will be coming soon.
Thanks again to XtremeBigAir!
