The all new 2010 Nemesis NXG (NXG= Next Generation) is for performance riding, providing the unbeatable balance of C-kite responsiveness and SLE performance. You will find it the perfect choice for aggressive Big-air and high powered Freestyle riding.

  • It has a Cuben equipped LE with Twister Tech and a radical new wingtip layout delivers faster, more powerful turn initiation with reduced bar pressure, maximizing handling responsiveness in any wind conditions. The reduced diameter Cuben Equipped LE reduces drag and improves LE stiffness; allowing you to ride the Nemesis NXG harder and faster upwind and still delivers more than enough lift to satisfy any Big-air freak.

  • It has a deeper, more powerful central canopy profile delivers incredible low wind ability while the VP3 bridle completely eliminates backstall, even when riding unhooked, ensuring that the new 2010 Nemesis NXG remains ultra stable across its entire wind range. Add in Canopy Framing, a 3D Kevlar airframe and Best’s legendary Surf Tough construction and you have the number one kite choice for all performance focused riders, in any wind, on any wave.

What has changed on the 2010 Nemesis NXG? (Yes, this is a completely brand new design Nemesis and it is so much fun to kite with the Nemesis NXG - It is going to be my main kite for the 2010 season as well as for the BEST International Team Riders! If you love what the Nemesis does, Big-air, huge powered kiteloops and how it handles insanely overpowered conditions then you will still feel right at home with the 2010 Nemesis NXG. For 2010 NXG, you get much improved unhooked handling which makes advanced Freestyle and Wave riding better than ever before. You also get the added convenience of the new external EZ-Pump system.)

  • External EZ-Pump: The NXG now available with our new external EZ-Pump system. If you value convenience and fast set-up and pack down then this is the best inflation system we've ever made. All parts are completely user serviceable and changing bladders is as quick and easy as any other system on the market.
  • VP3 bridle: The bridle geometry and pulley system has been completely reworked to accommodate the more dropped shape of the wingtips, this further enhances stability at all wind speeds.
  • Canopy profile/ plan-shape: Dropping the wingtips and extending the centre chord has created a more powerful canopy shape that increases the 'snap' the kite delivers when you jump. The NXG has been shaped to provide more responsive handling for Freestyle riding and when going unhooked for Freestyle or Wave riding back- stall has been almost completely eliminated.
  • Flat Pack seam: a new folded LE barrel seams flat and internalized; this stiffens the LE and makes it more durable to abrasion. The new barrel seams also help to maximize the effect of Twister Tech, so the 2010 NXG is even more responsive than last year's Nemesis
  • ABC Auto-tune: The NXG retains the three back line pigtails settings from last year that allow you to tune the turning rate and depower feel of your kite to suit your preference. This year each of the pigtails has been pre-trimmed to compensate for changes in the back line V length as you swap between settings, so there's now no need to adjust your rear line trim when you adjust the handling settings of your kite.
  • What type of rider will like the 2010 Nemesis NGX kites:

  • FreeStylers who wants to go Xtremely big: hooked and unhooked with C-kite unhooked feeling.
  • If you want aggressive lift that snaps you off the water for every jump then the 2010 Nemesis NXG is the kite for you. If you ride overpowered, and don't even think about going kiting until the wind hits 20 knots then the Nemesis NXG is definitely the best kite for you.
  • The NXG is for riders who constantly find themselves at the 'outer limit'. The 'outer limit' isn't a place where most kiters ride, but if you are constantly pushing your limits, always looking for a competitive edge and only ever throw- down with 100% commitment then the Nemesis NXG is the kite you need to take you there. It's quickly become the number one choice with many of BEST international team riders who want a fast powerful kite with incredibly responsive handling

July 24, 2009 was the first time I tested the new 2010 BEST Nemesis NXG 9m! Wind was blowing 25mph gusting 30 or more. I am 155 lbs/70KG and I was testing this 9m Nemesis NXG with the new BALANCE 130cm and Underground FLX 132cm
  • During this week, I had a chance to test all 2010 BEST Kites and boards. For NXG Nemesis 2010 kites, I tested both the Nemesis NXG 10m and 9m. Yes, BEST is introducing 6m, 8m, 9m, 10m, 12m, 14m for 2010 Nemesis NXG. The 2010 BEST Nemesis NXG has light bar pressure, super stable, super big boost, pop, and hang time, and very quick Wing tip turning.
  • On Friday July 24, 2009: I was on the 9m Nemesis NXG in wind that I would normally riding 7m kite: it was blowing 25mph gusting to over 30mph. It was one of the best kiting day for me as I felt so comfortable with the 9m Nemesis NXG in such high wind.
  • I was boosting unhooked tricks so high: probably some of the biggest jumps I have ever done. I really love the light bar pressure and the huge depower range of this 9m Nemesis NXG. I tested it in both AB and AA settings. AB has a tiny bit more bar pressure than the AA settings. Kiteloops on the 9m Nemesis NXG is so sweet and super fun. I dropped the NXG multip times and it relaunched extremely well in both light wind and strong wind. My Big Air tricks became Xtreme Big Air Tricks: I was way up high. I kited total of 6 hours on the 9m Nemesis NXG and it felt great every seconds. I also tested the 9m Nemesis NXG with the new BEST Surfboard. Both 9m NXG and 5'6" surfboard worked so well in the little swells and they both felt fantastic.
  • On Saturday July 25, 2009: wind was much lighter: 12 to 16mph all day long. I was on the 10m Nemesis NXG with AA setting and the BEST Redline bar. The Nemesis NXG goes upwind so well. The wind was lighter so I had such a blast practicing unhooked tricks. If you like the BEST Yarga kites for unhooked tricks, you will love the NXG!
  • On July 27 - 28, 2009: Wind was blowing about 18mph average each day at Arroyo Laguna and surf was about head high. I was on 10m Nemesis NXG and Underground 5'2 Freewaves. Nemesis NXG 10m works good in the waves. There were no backstalling when I unhooked and jammed down the line on the waves. Hooked in, the Nemesis NXG 10m turned as fast as the Kahoona 7.5m. If you 100% dedicated to wave riding, then you should ride the Kahoona! Kahoona is really a wave riding machine. I tested the 10m NXG Nemesis both on 25m line and 22m line on the 45cm BEST Bar. My kiteloops definitely were BIGGER and became more like megaloops when I switched to 22m line length. I prefer to use the 10m NXG with 22m line.

  • Hood River, Oregon: July 23 - 25, 2009:

Thanks for hooking me up on the 2010 9M Nemi demo on Friday. Here are a few things I noticed about the kite:

  • Bar pressure was lighter than my 2008 Nemi. It wasn’t so light that I didn’t know where the kite was. Just the right amount for my riding style.
  • The boosting was amazing. I think I had some of my highest jumps. You got that initial boost as you left the water. When I was already in the air I would give the bar a little pull in and I would get some more lift. Pretty cool feeling. The kite also kept you up in the air a very long time. Very soft landings.
  • The kite was very stable in the gusty conditions. No lurching or jelly fishing.
  • Great range. I probably would have rode my 2008 7M Nemi in this wind (I’m guessing it was pushing 30mph at times). The 9M had plenty of power. I put it on the 2nd knot. Never did touch the depower strap. I just pushed the bar out and It depowered very nicely. I never felt like I was over powered.
  • Direct feel with no delay in the kite. Very responsive to bar input.
  • I think it will drop back into the window for wave riding. When I rode down from Wells Island to the sandbar, I tried to get the kite to drop back to simulate wave riding. It was better than the 2008 Nemi. Riding it in the ocean would be the real test.
  • The kite turned fast. I was able to throw a few kite loops without getting worked.
  • I didn’t put the kite in the water to tryout relaunching. I’m guessing that it would probably relaunch pretty well with the longer wing tips.
  • I’m glad they got rid of the old one pump system. At least you can clip off each strut like the Slingshot one pump system. Will Best offer a non one pump?
  • Overall a very nice kite. I think Best has a winner. I would like to try some other sizes to see what would make up a good quiver to replace my 2008 10M and 7M Nemi. The new 9M was so nice it would be great to have that one and build around it. Maybe a 12M, 9M, 6M. When will you get your 12M to try out? I’d like to hear what you have to say about it.
  • I hope you can make it up to the Gorge next year. I’d like to take you to a few other riding places.

The 2010 Nemesis NGX is by far one of the best kites the Best kiteboarding Team has designed and put out this year. Testing this kite at Hood River Oregon I was amazed of its the upwind ability and huge boosting. The 2010 Nemesis NXG has more of the C-Kite shape incorporated into it giving you the slack time in the lines when doing unhooked tricks for handlepasses. Another amazing feature of this kite is the bar pressure. Having different attatchments for turning speeds makes this kite easier for everyone to ride it all depending on what type of riding you are doing. Super easy bar pressure for doing huge kiteloops and you can still feel where the kite is at all times. This kite is deffinately a kite that is great for progressing in tricks and jumps. The water relaunching with the NXG Nemesis is easy, the kite swims to the edge of the window and a few tugs and up it goes. The Nemesis NGX comes in second when riding waves compared to the Kahoona. The NGX does not seem to have the fluidness the Kahoona has when going down the line in waves, yet it is aggressive. I highly recommend trying this kite you will be amazed how it flys and performs.

Just got back from Hood river. Thanks again for letting me demo the 2010 kites. My review is below:
I flew the 2010 Nemesis NXG 9M and 10M kite and compared them to my 2009 Nemesis 10M. The wind was a little gusty ranging from 17-28 mph. I weigh 180lbs and ride a 128 board and rode the kites on the second knot with the A-B setting.
The bar pressure was less than my 2009 but not so lite that you lose the kite. Very nice for riding long sessions. Also worked well for wake style tricks. Very nice unhooked feel.
Amazing boosting power. When compared to my 2009 I definitely boosted higher and spent more time in the air on the 2010. Kite was very stable and gave me a ton of confidence on big jumps.
What's really nice is the number of different sizes available so you can really dial in your riding spot. 10M works best for me here in San Francisco but I would prefer the 9M up in Hood River. Both kites flew similar to each other with the 10M having better low end as expected. I would highly recommend these kites to people who ride wake style or want more boosting power!

Friday July 24, 2009: Light wind - Jon E. was on riding the 2010 Nemesis 10m NXG. Here is what Jon E. wrote:
The Nemesis NGX is definitely going to be the staple in my kite line-up. Kiteloops are my favorite manuever to do with any kite, and the NGX would literally turn on top of itself. The bar pressure was a definite improvement from the 2009 Nemi without sacrificing the feel for where the kite is in the wind window. The NGX felt so light on the bar that when you dive the thing the power that it generates is much more than expected. The 2010 Nemesis NGX is one kite that will exceed your expectations.

Latest Updated: October 05, 2009

I have been having some of the best kiting time in my life on the BEST 10m NXG during the last few months. So I am really excited once the 8m NXG arrived last week and the 8m NXG also are available for you to purchase now!

September 29, 2009: Wind was blowing 20mph on the beach and progressively became stronger. I was having so much fun on the 8m NXG. At first, I had the 8m NXG on AB Setting: the kite was a bit faster for my taste when doing unhooked tricks. I went in and changed it to AA Setting for waveriding. The 8m NXG is fun for waves riding: unhooked/strapless. It turns fast and quick with AA setting. Then I changed it to AC setting and I had such a great time doing tricks as well as waves riding. I did not go all out as I was still adjusting to the 8m NXG high boost.

Kinsley ThomasWong testing the 8m BEST 2010 NXG

Sunday October 04, 2009: Wind was quite strong: 25mph on the beach and gusting 29mph or more. It was my second day on the 8m NXG and I was more comfortable riding it in stronger wind. I was able to do bigairs, boards off tricks as well as kiteloops and unhooked tricks. Once the wind dropped down to 15mph gust 19mph, I was still able to ride upwind and do some tricks but the 8m NXG really rides better in 18mph plus wind.

The 8m NXG is very STABLE with AC Setting. With the AC setting, the 8m NXG feels almost like the 10m/9m NXG on AA setting. It does not jump around like other 7m/8m kites when you do unhooked tricks. Earlier this year, the 7.5 Kahoona has been my most favorite small kite. Now the 8m NXG is taking over as my new favorite small kite!
