The best way to get live updated information at our local beach is to join: Twitter.com and participate in our little wind report group. It is very simple: first person on the beach reports the wind condition (example: 16mph at Pier Avenue) by SMS to "40404" or by using IPHONE's Twitteriffic. Then instantly everyone who follows XTREMEBIGAIR's Twitter will get the same text message.
Here is the step-by-step detail information how to set up your cell phone to use Twitter:
1. Sign up for a free Twitter account here.
2. Click on "Settings" from your Twitter Account
3. Click on "Devices" and put in your Phone number and follow the instruction from Twitter to activate your phone to hook up with Twitter.
4. Click on "Find People" and then "Find on Twitter" from you Twitter Account.
5. Add "XtremeBigAir" and that is it.
6. From your Twitter Account, Click "home" then click on "following"
Under "XtremeBigAir", You want to select the "Device Updates=ON"

If you get to the beach and still got no Wind Report/SMS update from Twitter (40404) account, that means YOU NEED to SEND An SMS to "40404" to report the wind in this format: Wind velocity and location, i.e: 16mph at Pier Avenue
If you got an IPhone, just download "Twitteriffic" and POST the Wind Velocity and Location!
