Brian Ackerman has been kiting
for only a year. Brian is very fortunate because when he learned kiting
he was taught the "Wong Way" from an ancient Chinese Master Kiter,
known as Kinsley Wong. Through great Chinese legend it was taught that
there was a kiter "Wong Way" who taught the ninjas how to glide atop
the bamboo reeds between the villages. It is also rumored that as a
young boy the original "Wong Way" kiter was seen jumping back and forth
over the Great Wall of China with his 12 meter bamboo reed and rice
paper Waroo, Version1. This ancient technique was handed down over the
centuries and eventually taught to Brian by the "Wong Way" master
himself, a direct descendent of the original Master Kiter. Today Brian
can be seen at Pismo Beach preforming some of the great "Wong Way"
skills he has learned.
Often some say there is a golden
auora around his presence due to the great powers he posess to jump so
high. It is rumored that Brian's actions are so quick that he even
outruns the camera. However, in one lucky instance he was caught on
camera executing one of his smaller "Wong Way" kite jumps over as he
was still on his ascent over local kiter and team rider Art de Werk.
Note the center lower hoto and amazement in Art looking skyward and
almost hypnotized by Brian's great feat. When asked about his great
skills, Brian humbly prefers not talk about them, but says, Kiting good
is ok but kiting the "Wong Way" is the only way. Look for Brian
reinacting the famous "Wong Way" aerial stunts preformed at the Great
Wall of China in the upcomming Summer Olympics in China!
